Knowing very little about Yoga at that time, I quickly discovered that it was not just some gentle stretching exercises with funny names, but actually a deeply healing and powerfully transformative holistic practice. I found that my body was being challenged in completely new ways, which actually re-sculpted my body, bringing strength, tone, and flexibility that I’d never had before. The baby-weight shifted and my health was noticeably improving. However, it wasn’t just the physical benefits that kept me going back, but also the way I felt at the end of a class – filled with a deep peacefulness, and yet at the same time energised and alert.
Today, having now taught Yoga for 7 years, my passion for Yoga remains strong, constantly reinforced by the incredible results my students achieve, from improving general health and vitality, to relieving chronic pain and illness. The reasons why Yoga works so well at healing almost any physical and mental ailments are complex, even mystical, but with a little dedication to the regular practice of this beautiful ancient art, the results will speak for themselves.
